Come break the rules and say “yes!” to new art experiences at the Carter’s Second Thursdays! Each month you’ll find something different than the last—mingle with fellow art lovers, make art, and meet visiting artists, sometimes with live music and always with themed cocktails inspired by the Carter’s collection.

In July, grab a drink and put pencil to paper with this evening themed around drawing works of art in our collection.

Schedule

5–8 p.m.

Grab a free sketchbook and Carter pencil to draw with all night. Supplies limited to the first 200 people.

Enjoy drinks for purchase, including a specialty cocktail or mocktail. Carter members get one complimentary drink! Lite bites are available for purchase at the Carter’s Food Cart.

Practice your still-life skills or draw the portrait of a stranger. Each table in the Atrium will have a different creative opportunity!

5, 6, and 7 p.m.

On the hour, we’ll meet in the galleries where a Carter Community Artist will teach us how to draw specific works in the Carter’s collection. At the start of each drawing workshop, a Carter curator will share information about the artwork.
