Come break the rules and say “yes!” to new art experiences at the Carter’s Second Thursdays! Each month you’ll find something different than the last—mingle with fellow art lovers, make art, and meet visiting artists, sometimes with live music and always with themed cocktails inspired by the Carter’s collection.

In December, we’re celebrating the holiday season with a night of smooth sounds and artists inspired by jazz.

Schedule

5–6 p.m.

Experience a mix of jazzy holiday songs and jazz standards performed by The Danny Stone Trio.

5–8 p.m.

Enjoy drinks for purchase, including a specialty holiday cranberry punch cocktail. Carter members get one complimentary drink! Lite bites are available for purchase at the Carter’s Food Cart.

Draw, collage, or decorate a favorite holiday food memory on a postcard inspired by Stuart Davis’s compositions, and combine them with drawings and images of food as a nod to Chuck Ramirez, capturing the energy of holiday gatherings. Led by Carter Community Artist Michelle Cortez Gonzales. Supplies limited to the first 200 people.

Join our community conversation with local chefs about the artworks in Seven Days: The Still Lifes of Chuck Ramirez.

6:30–7:30 p.m.

Listen to Stockton Helbing and his quartet as they swing you into the holiday season with classic jazz tunes. Whether you are a jazz aficionado or a jazz first-timer, you are guaranteed to have a good time.
