Paper Forum | An Evening with Highpoint Master Printer Cole Rogers
Paper Forum members are invited to join curator Spencer Wigmore for an evening of conversation with Cole Rogers, Artistic Director and Master Printer of Highpoint Center for Printmaking in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This past year, the Carter has acquired several important prints from Highpoint by artists Julie Buffalohead, Andrea Carlson, and Willie Cole. Cole’s series Five Beauties Rising was selected by members at the Paper Forum during the 2022 View and Vote. Rogers and Wigmore will share insights on these works and discuss the unique workshop model at Highpoint.
Cole Rogers is a co-founder of Highpoint and its Artistic Director and Master Printer. He earned his BFA in Printmaking and Art History minor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, an MFA in Printmaking at Ohio State University, and a Tamarind Master Printer Certificate from the University of New Mexico. He has worked at Tamarind as a Senior Printer, Vermillion Editions LTD. as Chief Lithographer, and AKASHA as Chief Printer. He was the Printshop Director at Minneapolis College of Art and Design, where he taught, shaped curriculum, and advocated for the art of printmaking.
