Fred and Jo Mazzulla Collection

Amateur historian Fred Mazzulla spent decades building a collection of visual material about the history of Colorado, including photographs, negatives, postcards, and memorabilia, and the Carter retains over 6,000 works from his collection. The material addresses the settlement of the state by White Americans, with special focus on landscape views, early towns, and industries like railroads and mining, and includes significant bodies of work by W. J. Carpenter, Joseph Collier, and William Henry Jackson. Other works from the Mazzulla Collection were transferred from the Carter to the Colorado State Historical Society
