Event Description
No talking. No food and drinks. No dancing
Come break the rules and say “yes!” to new art experiences at the Carter’s Second Thursdays! Each month you’ll find something different than the last—mingle with fellow art lovers, make art, and meet visiting artists, sometimes with live music and always with themed cocktails inspired by the Carter’s collection.
This month, enjoy an evening enhanced with art making and themed cocktails while listening to local musicians perform on our Porch.
Schedule
5–6:30 p.m.
Hear Danny Joseph play fun songs you can dance to on our Porch. Danny Joseph was a finalist on The Voice Season 26. He has been writing and producing music since he was 13 years old and has a passion for soul, blues, and country music.
Get your photo taken in the style of Richard Avedon with Fort Worth Camera and learn more about the Funkytown Focus, their annual photography and imaging festival.
5–8 p.m.
Enjoy drinks creatively crafted by Pop Up Bar. Three specialty-themed cocktails will be inspired by artworks in our collection. Carter members get one complimentary drink!
Join Carter Community Artist Stuart Hausmann and decorate slap bracelets inspired by Beverly Pepper’s sculpture Curvae in Curvae. Supplies are limited to the first 200 people.
Check out the pop-up Museum Shop on the Plaza.
6–6:30 p.m.
Experience a cocktail-themed tour of our collection with Carter educator Andi Severin and learn about the artworks that inspired the specialty drinks for the evening. The three cocktails will be available for purchase at the bar throughout the night.
6:30–8 p.m.
Listen to Graceland Ninjaz and dance on our Porch as the sun sets. Graceland Ninjaz is a tribute to rock and hip-hop with a twist of Elvis! They deliver a high-energy show blending mashups and greatest hits spanning five decades of rock & roll, dance, hip hop, and soul. From Beyoncé and Elvis to Lady Gaga and Snoop, they will get you grooving on the dance floor!
