Join artists Celia Álvarez Muñoz, Raul Rodriguez, and Bryan Schutmaat for a panel discussion with the Carter’s Head of Research Library Scott Davis on art, photography, and text. Álvarez Muñoz is a conceptual multimedia based in Arlington, Texas, artist known for her diverse works, including artist's books, photographs, installations, and public art. Rodriguez is a photographer, artist, curator, and educator in Fort Worth, Texas. Schutmaat is a photographer based in Austin, Texas, whose work has been widely exhibited and published. Following their discussion will be an audience Q&A. Seating for the talk will be first come, first served for the first 160 people.
American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation will be provided during the conversation.

About Celia Álvarez Muñoz
Celia Álvarez Muñoz is a conceptual multimedia Texas artist known for her diverse works, including artist's books, photographs, installations, and public art. She is a recipient of two National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship Awards in Photography and New Genres, CAA Committee on Women in the Arts Recognition Award, Honors Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Arts by Women's Caucus for Art, The Outstanding Centennial Alumnus by University of North Texas College of Arts and Sciences, and many others. Her work has been nationally and internationally exhibited and was included in the Whitney Museum of American Art 1991 Biennial. Her work is in numerous private and public collections of major museums, universities, and corporations.
About Raul Rodriguez
Raul Rodriguez is a photographer, artist, curator, and educator in Texas. He focuses on people and things to share stories about community, identity, and human resilience through documentary photography and portraiture. He earned a BFA from the University of North Texas and MFA from Texas Christian University. His work has been featured in Glasstire, The Dallas Morning News, Aint-Bad Magazine, Art & Seek, and KERA. He is the editor and founder of the photographic platform Deep Red Press.
About Bryan Schutmaat
Bryan Schutmaat is a photographer based in Austin, Texas, whose work has been widely exhibited and published. He has won numerous awards, including a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship, the Aperture Portfolio Prize, and an Aaron Siskind Fellowship. His prints are held in many collections, such as the Baltimore Museum of Art; Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; Pier 24 Photography; Rijksmuseum; and San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. He co-founded the imprint Trespasser.
