    u.l. printed: PUEBLO INDIAN ESTUFA OR KIVA, \ NEW MEXICO. \ A large circular external wall, ( turret like ) with closed in \ roof. Access being only by descending a ladder through a \ hole in the roof. Of the mysteries that take place here prac- \ tically nothing is known for in spite of the face that the \ Indians of New Mexico and Arizona are nominally Catholic \ they are intensely conservative regarding their ancient \ religious rites.
