l.c.: PIKE'S PEAK. \ The altitude of Pike's Peak is 14,325 feet. Distance from the point of observation to the summit, air line, 23 miles; to the base of the mountains, 10 \ miles. An idea of the clearness and purity of the atmosphere of Colorado may be had from the fact that Pike's Peak can be distinctly seen from a point \ where Lone Tree Creek leaves the Mountains, a distance of 190 miles north.
