Description
Caption included with photograph reads: "Bottom photo above is compared to actual site. Photo was misrepresented in testimony before Sanate subcommittee on Indian affairs (Sept. 1968) as 'Indian campsite at Blue Lake. Note unburied campfire and two freshly cut, green stumps.' (From testimony of Jon W. Little of N. M. Wildlife Association. Actual site is not at the Indian campground nor in the Indian ceremonial ground, but lies between the ceremonial ground and the Forest Service administrative cabin. The stumps in the photograph were made, by the Forest Ranger's subsequent admission, at least three or four years earlier and were not 'freshly cut, green stumps.'"
