Present man- \ sion built 1830, plantation settled 1783, and \ consists of 500 acres along Savannah River front. \ Many of the old slave huts and plantation build- \ ings standing and partially destroyed can be \ viewed. Is probably the most famous and repre- \ sentative of ante-bellum plantations in the South.
