NO. 115. \ MANITOU SERIES. - A RIFT IN THE ROCKS, GLEN EYRIE. \ Manitou is seventy-five miles south of Denver, at the entrance of the Ute Pass into the South Park, \ and is reached by the Rio Grande Railway. It is the location of the celebrated mineral springs already \ annually frequesnted by an army of tourists and seekers after health. The rocks which make this region \ so romantic are the sandstone, limestone and conglomerates, which elsewhere form the foothills. Here, \ instead of resting at an inclination, they stand upon their edges by some freak of nature, enclosing various \ areas; that of Glen Eyrie contains probably a thousand acres, while the Garden of the Gods is but a mere \ fragment of space. A beautiful crystal stream runs through the Glen. \ The needle-looking rock in the background is the exceedingly thin edge of the Echo Rocks
