Verso:
u.l. to l.r. in black ink: Mrs. Burnside, the weaver was also \ silversmith, wife of a silversmith and her \ relative Mrs. teaches weaving at the Nav. Community College \ Tsaili College \ at Wheatfield \ Lake. \ + Many Farms \ Jr. College. \ Many Farms \ Arizona. I may want to borrow the weaving book if it is not available from \ Haskell Insitute \ in Lawrence Kansas. \ This gives you a good idea \ of the area your design can \ fill, the materials involve no \ complicated mechanical hook \ ups -- 2 smooth falttened sticks \ and 2 smooth (thinner but strong) round \ sticks - and I think the bottom \ pole weights the warp. All can \ withstand rain (seldom comes) \ and sun and the actual weaving \ is done all by daylight. They \ spin during long winter indoors. \ as well as at odd moments in summer. \ If you ever go to the south west let me give you \ some names & some locations where you \ can visit some craftsmen, but it will take \ writing ahead in advance. The craftsmen go \ to Gallup for tourist season & are not always at "home."
