Mount Verso:
c., machine printed label: LOW DOG \ No. 101 Low dog, cabinet bust. \ No. 102 Low Dog, cabinet, 3/4 length. \ Low Dow [sic] is known for the terrible murder he \ committed [sic] between Poplar River and Wolf \ Point. He wounded the mail carrier, and then \ tortured him to death by building a fire around \ him. In the winter of 1881, X. Beidler, United \ States Marshal for Montana, rode across the \ country from Helena to Fort Buford, in the dead \ of winter, with necessary papers to take him for \ this murder. Low Dog was held as a prisoner \ of war, and Beidler did not succeed in taking him.
