u.l. printed: The Kaibab Suspension Bridge spans the \ Colorado River at the foot of Kaibab Trail, eleven \ miles from El Tovar Hotel. It is 420 feet long \ and swings 60 feet above the river. It is a \ monument to the resourcefulness of modern \ engineering, because of the difficulties overcome \ in transporting materials down the steep Canyon \ trails.
