About midway is the Royal \ Gorge, the deepest and narrowest part of the \ Canon, where the walls rise to a height of 2,500 \ feet and the river channel is so restricted that \ the railroad is carried over the stream by a \ bridge suspended from the rocks above. c.l. to l.c. in ink: with brother george \ I came to Manitau [sic] as \ you said and am \ felling fine I \ hope you have been \ with the boys and \ are keeping House \ fine without me \ I feel as young as \ I used to but, worn, l.c. to u.r. in ink [continued]: I hope to getover it soon \ I tip the scales at \ 200 pounds and \ hopeto loose [sic] some of \ it by climbing around \ I have met lots of olde [sic] \ friends so I am not \ lonesome write if you \ will to me. general \ Delivery Manitau [sic] Springs Colo \ Mrs May Ames \ 233 Rixton Cove.
