c.l. printed: GORE CANON \ Gore Canon is four miles in length, and the most \ rugged canon in the United States. The walls rise pre- \ cipitously from the track to a height of 1,800 feet. This \ picture was taken from the top of the cliffs, showing the \ serpentine winding of the track through the canon like \ a thread. It required three years of construction to com- \ plete four miles of track which will, in a measure, give \ an idea of the magnitude of the work. But no mere de- \ scription can do justice to this wonderful example of \ Nature's masonry.
c.l. in ink: 1/1/14 --- 1750
c.r. in graphite along right edge: 1750
