c.l. printed: CURRECANTI [sic] NEEDLE. \ In the center of a spacious amphitheatre in the Black \ Canon of the Gunnison, stands the Currecanti Needle, a \ towering monument of solid stone, which reaches up to \ where it flaunts the clouds, like some great cathedral spire. \ Truly, there is no gorge in all the Rocky Range that pre- \ sents such variety and grandeur as the Black Canon of \ the Gunnison, of which the Currecanti Needle is the most \ striking feature. Gazing on this wonderful example of \ Nature's handiwork, mere man is brought to a full realiza- \ tion of what a pigmy he is, and stands awe-struck in the \ contemplation of the wonderful works of the Creator.

    c.l. in ink: 1/1/14 ---- 3200

    c.r. in graphite along right edge: In reserve \ 2100 + 1100 = 3200
