MUACHE. \ The old war chief of his band, and informer days \ quite noted for his independent raids into the country \ of the Cheyennes and their allies. In the winter of \ 1868-'69 he organized a body of 100 warriors, and, as \ leader of these, was attached to the column under Colonel \ Evans, operating against the Kiowas and Comanches, \ which campaign ended in the surrender of these Indi- \ ians. He is now quite old and has lost much of his \ influence, his son Maut chick succeeding him.
