u.l. printed: FRED \ HARVEY "PHOSTINT" \ TRADE MARK REG U. S. PAT OFF. \ MADE ONLY BY DETROIT PUBLISHING CO.
u.l. printed: The finest effects at the Grand Canyon are alto- \ gether uncommunicable by brush or pen. They \ give themselves up only to the personal presence, \ and no painter or writer can do more than suggest \ what they are. You cannot paint a silence, nor an \ emotion, nor a sob. If you are skillful you can \ suggest them to the imagination but that is all. Here \ even silence seems to have dimension and color.
