  • Description

Typed letter signed. Reports problems in the past in getting pictorial books published, as publishers show little interest in them. Says they are almost a new art form in which there is a complete integration of words and pictures so that they cannot be separated. Says such books may not be judged to be books at all. Asks if the Dorr Foundation publishes books. Reports that he has his own manuscript about Walt Whitman which he worked on following a heart attack and which he has entrusted to an agent. Reports working on a new book which emphasizes a new way of looking at the Reconstruction Era of the South. Thanks her for the “friendly” visit he and his children paid her last Sunday morning.
