Depth of water 22 feet at low tide in the shallowest place, ranging to 70 feet. Distance to the nearest mountain 20 miles. To the / mountains on the left 45 miles. Population of San Diego in 1872, 3000. Culverwell's Wharf is seen in the centre of the picture; length, 13000 feet. The Pacific Mail S. S.
