Autograph letter signed. Reports being ill with the flu, fever, and weakness several times while she had to take antibiotics and says only Dorr understands why she has not written or called. Dorr does not assume that Mentzel doesn’t care, as Mentzel’s other friends do. Says Dorr illuminated the mystery of life and love at the Christmas Mentzel spent with them at Villa Serena and she knows no one else who can do that. People there think Mentzel is an atheist because she is not well prepared for their Christmas celebrations. Tells Dorr that her husband Henry is making a whole house for their son Thomas to play in which is sure to delight him.
