    Autograph letter signed. Hopes Dorr is in Texas or Mexico and not too alone [John Dorr, Nell’s husband, died June 29, 1962.] Reports that Mentzel’s mother was in the hospital for two weeks and then will go to a sanitarium. While Mentzel was on a brief trip to Zurich and Munich before her mother was to be released, she received word that her mother had died after sudden, severe attacks and then being unconscious for two days. Mentzel was finally reached on the day of her mother’s funeral, which she arrived in time for the last part of. Her mother had a brain tumor. Her father is holding up well and they are looking for someone to stay with him.
