Autograph letter signed. From Nell Dorr. [Letter says tomorrow is July 24th and discusses their imminent marriage in August. They married in 1935 so the date for this letter is, I believe, July 23, 1935.] Reports her progress on packing. Tells of a call from Goldthwaite [John’s brother] whom she thought was very like John. Says she took their idea to John’s dentist friend who was enthusiastic about it and so she is very enthusiastic about it too. Talks about her meeting with the jeweler, Mr. Schenk, to discuss her wedding ring. Says she wants to keep the feeling of virgin gold and the jeweler showed her some small yellow diamonds to set into the gold to look like they had come up from the earth. Tells Dorr that he is to supply the gold and the wording of the inscription. Points out that their initials will be almost identical: hers will be V. N. D. [Virginia Nell Dorr] and his are J. V. N. D.
