Description
Autograph letter signed. Reports to John that her hay is cut and smells sweet and her white rambler roses are blooming over the stone wall. Says she sat rocking on the veranda while she watched the moon set and stars come out over the mountains. Reports that she is spending the day at Tasha’s [Tasha Tudor, children’s author and illustrator]. Tells John that Tasha and Tom and her [Dorr’s] daughter Bet and John [Bet’s husband] have been a great help in getting things done there. Says that John’s mother Kathryn is [such a German] and that she is jealous and possessive because all her children have left home, in spite of her best efforts. Kathryn resents Nell for the help she has given John, but Nell is saddened for Kathryn’s emptiness.
