Autograph letter signed. Savannahline Ocean Steampship Company of Savannah letterhead. Dorr is aboard a ship with only about ten other passengers on it. Dorr thanks John for making it possible. Says they sit near the captain’s table. The captain is a German named Diehl with “atrocious table manners” who tells repeatedly of a rescue he made for which he received a medal of honor. Says she will listen to the rain on the deck and the music of the waves and go to sleep.
