Description
Autograph letter signed. Tells of nursing Julia [their third daughter] through roseola. Thanks Dorr for her understanding and advice to Frederick. Expresses gratitude to Dorr for telling him openly a truth about him that Greta has tried to tell him. Says Frederick is vulnerable and needs protection and is deluding himself about the evil in some people. Says he is often drawn to the neurotic, unhappy, and confused soul and wants to avoid the unpleasant. Says that “instead of avoiding the thesis adviser for a different one, he lets himself be convinced that ‘it would work out.”
