  • Description

Typed letter signed. Reports that his fifteen year old son Johnny and a friend of his were attacked and severely beaten. Johnny, who already had a broken left foot from playing soccer, had his left arm broken and a concussion from having his head stomped on by cowboy boots. The boys could not identify their attackers, except to say they wore cowboy boots and hats. Johnny interceded when the boys started beating his friend so he was beaten as well. The police were aware of other attacks by boys from a nearby rural community who came into Fort Worth and sought out young men with long hair to beat up. Johnny will be all right, but with caring for him, the police investigation, and working on the book, Griffin hasn’t had time to write her a personal letter.
