Description
Typed letter signed. Tells of being up following a very recent surgery and of going with Penn Jones and Jacques Maritain to Gethsemani, Kentucky, to meet with Thomas Merton. [Merton was a Trappist monk and friend of Griffin’s, who later began work on Merton’s authorized biography, but died before it was finished.] Griffin photographed the meeting. He tells Dorr he will send her a copy of Ramparts magazine with a story about Penn Jones and his work when the magazine comes out next month.
