u.c. to u.r. printed on paper label: I-ba-han-bi, He is known Chief of the \ I-shta-san-da gens of the Omaha. \ He was a prosperous farmer, a shrewd \ man, one who could not be cheated by a \ trader. He realized the importance to \ the rising generation of a knowledge of \ the English language. This Chief, White Horse (Shan-ge ska) and Lion (Wa-ni-ta \ wa-ghe) were the three who held the balance \ of power between the Chief's party (conserva- \ tives) and citizen's party (progressives), \ voting sometimes with the one, sometimes with \ the other. No. 13 shows his tent in 1871-2(?) \ when Dr. Painter was agent.
