With the \ governor, Joseph, he visited Washington in 1876 to \ adjust various business matters in connection with his \ tribe. Age, 28; height, 5.11 1/2 ; head, 22 3/4; chest, 38.

It is possible that the real \ meaning is Black Wolf, as shun ke is dog, and \ shunk-tan-a, may be big dog, wolf; A parallel \ case is that of the Omaha, Shan-ge ska, White \ Horse, originally, White Wolf).
