Photographer Kapulani Landgraf is best known for her black-and-white images depicting Indigenous Hawaiian cultures and addressing the legacy of colonialism in the archipelago. Through abstract motifs, portraiture, and landscape photography, Landgraf centers Native Hawaiian sovereignty and resilience. The artist earned her BA in anthropology from the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa and her MFA from the Vermont College of Fine Arts. As of 2024, she teaches at Kapiolani Community College.
