Kali Spitzer is a Kaska Dena (Daylu, Lower Post, British Columbia) and Jewish photographer who represents interracial, queer, trans, and Indigenous communities outside of the colonial lens. Through large prints and unconventional photographic processes, she creates intimate portraits and scenes that capture the inner world of her sitters, their identity, and their culture. Spitzer received the 2022 Aftermath Project grant to expand her project, An Exploration of Resilience and Resistance, a series of tintype photographs highlighting the stories people of Indigenous and interracial descent in her community.
