Fort Worth, TX, June 3, 2016—The Amon Carter Museum of American Art will honor military personnel this summer by participating for the seventh year in the Blue Star Museums program in collaboration with the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense and museums across America.

The Blue Star Museums program allows free museum admission to military personnel and their families. Because admission to the Amon Carter is always free, active and retired military families will receive a complimentary souvenir art book during their museum visit now through Sunday, September 4, 2016. To receive this gift, please present your military ID at the museum’s Information Desk.

More than 2,000 museums in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and American Samoa are participating in Blue Star Museums. The complete list of participating museums is available at BlueStarFam.org. For more information please contact 817.989.5030 or visitors@cartermuseum.org.

“We are always privileged to have military visitors at the museum,” says Andrew Walker, executive director. “We hope many American heroes and their families will have the chance to spend precious time together enjoying American art in our galleries.”

The Amon Carter offers a renowned collection of American art housed in Philip Johnson’s masterpiece in the heart of Fort Worth’s Cultural District.
