Event Description

Join us as we read Home Fire by Kamila Shamsie. Home Fire is a suspenseful and heartbreaking story of an immigrant family driven to pit love against loyalty, with devastating consequences. A contemporary retelling of Sophocles’ tale of Antigone, Shamsie’s novel is set among two Pakistani families living in very different communities in London. Shirley Reece-Hughes, curator of the exhibition Anila Quayyum Agha: A Beautiful Despair, will share some insights on the artist’s background and artworks, and how they connect to the exhibition. After the tour, we will discuss the book.

You can purchase Home Fire in the Museum Shop.

American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation may be provided during this event upon advance request.
