Members on the Road

Join friends from the Amon Carter as we travel to historic towns of Lindsay and Gainesville. Our first stop is St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Lindsay, one of the most beautiful painted churches in the state. The current structure, built in 1918, was restored in 2009–10 by Fort Worth architect Arthur Weinman and earned a Merit Award from the American Institute of Architects Fort Worth. Mr. Weinman will be our guide at the church and will share his knowledge and history of the site. Lunch follows at the Balcony of Amelia’s Attic in Gainesville. After lunch we visit the historic Santa Fe Depot, former home to a Harvey House restaurant, as well as two private historic homes that will be open especially for our group.

This trip is for members only; space is limited.

Fee: $125 per person includes transportation, lunch, all fees and gratuities. For reservations please contact Mary Lynn Sloane at 817.989.5063 or email marylynn.sloane@cartermuseum.org.

This tour is not ADA accessible and participation requires climbing at least 30 steps.

Plexus no. 34

Amon Carter Circle Paintings and Sculpture Forum

Join us for a conversation with internationally renowned Dallas-based artist Gabriel Dawe and the Amon Carter’s assistant curator Maggie Adler under Plexus no. 34, Dawe’s monumental site-specific installation of more than sixty miles of multicolored thread. Dawe’s kaleidoscopic works defy easy explanation. They appear to be frozen rainbows or marvelous effects of light. The Amon Carter will be the home of Plexus no. 34 for two years.

This will be an opportunity to purchase a copy of a limited edition, signed artist’s book.

Please RSVP to kathleen.butz@cartermuseum.org or 817.989.5060.
