Event Description

Art, history, and culture coexist in the Carter galleries with our docents and Museum staff. The Tea & Tours series offers a chance to talk about art while enjoying tea and treats with other Carter members and Museum staff.

Imagined Realism: Scott and Stuart Gentling

Examine the richly detailed and varied work of Fort Worth artists Scott and Stuart Gentling, from landscapes to formal portraiture and still lifes.

Thomas Moran’s Mount Superior and Coats Close-Up

Celebrate the Carter’s recent acquisition of Thomas Moran’s watercolor, Mount Superior, as viewed from Alta, Little Cottonwood Canyon, Utah (ca. 1879). Drawing from the Museum’s photography and works on paper collection, the exhibition tells the story of this extraordinary watercolor.

Then explore the evolution of men’s coats in the 18th century as seen in the exhibition Imagined Realism: Scott and Stuart Gentling.

Anila Agha and Carlotta Corpron

Discover connections between the works of contemporary artists Anila Agha in the exhibition Anila Quayyum Agha: A Beautiful Despair and prints from the Carter’s holdings of 20th century photographer Carlotta Corpron. Though working in different mediums and eras, both artists use light and reflections in similarly evocative ways.
