Art and Relationships

Themed Tour

Meet at the Information Desk to explore how relationships have influenced art, made art, and produced art collections! The Amon Carter Museum itself had its beginnings in a friendship, and came into bloom through a family relationship. Artists have collaborated, influenced each other, and married each other. This tour discusses how some of these relationships have influenced the Amon Carter Museum’s permanent collection. No reservations required.

Itty-Bitty Art: Little Artists

Young Toddler Program

Artistic exploration can begin with the tiniest of hands. Bring your young toddler (ages 12–24 months) to the Amon Carter for an art-filled experience! Little hands will start to make art as Lindsay Koss, early childhood teacher, leads an art-making session inspired by the museum’s collection.

This introduction to artistic mediums allows toddlers to discover action, colors, textures, and to express themselves. Crayons, foam sheets, markers, paper, stamps, texture boards, and watercolors are a few toddler-friendly supplies that stimulate creativity while developing fine motor skills and encouraging cognitive development. Making art combines a sensory and emotional experience that fosters a passion for creative thinking and imagination!

Attendees may get messy—please dress accordingly!

Registration for this program opens May 1.

Musical activities include singing, instrument play, creative movement, and dancing. Caregivers will learn to recognize early music behaviors such as singing and moving, as well as how to utilize music during daily rituals at home.

Please bring a small blanket for your baby, and be sure to wear comfortable clothing.
