Educator Training
Enrich and enliven your curriculum—no matter the subject or grade level—by attending the Carter’s professional development programs. Interactive workshops that explore the museum’s collection, training sessions tailored to individual districts, and programs for preservice teachers are some of what the Carter offers to meet educator needs. “I’m always challenged to think at the Carter’s workshops. They recharge my batteries in order to help my students see new ways of looking at different subjects.”

Educator Workshops
Learn how to use art to make cross-curricular connections. Our workshops are open to educators from all disciplines and grade levels, including preservice teachers and administrators. Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits, digital images, and lesson plans tied to state and national standards are provided.
Faculty Training
Come to the Carter for your next faculty inservice or waiver day. Professional educators tailor training to faculty needs, incorporating visual arts, language arts, social studies, and other disciplines. To schedule a session, call 817.989.5032 or e-mail teaching@cartermuseum.org. Some faculty training requires a nominal fee for content development and accompanying resources.
Future Teacher Program
Prepare to teach with art before entering the classroom by participating in the Carter’s Future Teacher Program. Held in conjunction with college and university education courses, this program introduces preservice teachers of all grade levels and disciplines to the Carter’s resources and trains them to teach with objects. For more information, e-mail teaching@cartermuseum.org or call 817.989.5032.
