Beginning with John Singleton Copley’s portraits of Jabez and Sarah Bowen in 1771, the catalogue concludes with a 1969 Los Angeles street scene by photographer Garry Winogrand. Other artists represented include Ansel Adams, Thomas Hart Benton, Stuart Davis, Robert Frank, Winslow Homer, Edward Hopper, Fitz Hugh (Henry)Lane, John Marin, Georgia O’Keeffe, Frederic Remington, Charles M.
