June 11, 2001

FORT WORTH, Texas --- Following an extensive search, the Amon Carter Museum has appointed Jeffrey R. Guy as its new director of finance and operations. Guy brings significant experience in financial management and accounting from the Bank of America, where he had served since 1984.

Guy joins the Carter at a particularly exciting time in the museum's history. The Carter is scheduled to reopen on Sunday, Oct. 21, following the completion of a two-year, $39 million expansion project that triples the previous exhibition space. In his new position, Guy will provide financial management to meet the present and future needs of the museum, as well as oversight for internal operations, including accounting, information systems, human resources, merchandise marketing and facilities maintenance.

"We are absolutely delighted to have Jeff Guy as a member of our management team," said Amon Carter Museum Director Rick Stewart. "A museum is a business, and Jeff's obvious experience will help us shape our institution's operating strategy for the future. He brings to us a background in project planning, market research, and the implementation of technology-things that are crucial to our success."

At the Bank of America, Guy was most recently senior vice president and business manager. His duties included business and product integration and change activities, business strategy, market research, project and initiative planning and the alignment of technology, operations and services with multiple business lines.

"I am thrilled to be joining the Amon Carter Museum at such an exciting time in its history," said Guy. "This position offers a unique opportunity for me to apply my 15-plus years of business and finance expertise in an area where I have such a personal interest-furthering the arts and humanities in Fort Worth."

Guy holds an M.B.A. in finance and a B.A. in management from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. He also completed the three-year, industry-sponsored community banking management program at the School of Bank Administration, University of Wisconsin.
