Examines the painting SWIMMING(1895) by American painter Thomas Eakins (1844-1916). Uses X-ray photography to analyze his working methods and to investigate how Eakins changed the composition by adjusting three of his figures. Shows students at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts painting live nude models based on Eakins's techniques.
