John Muir is the second in a series of illustrated books by artist Thomas Locker introducing readers to notable people who loved and wrote about the American land - especially about the value of wilderness. Muir founded the Sierra Club and was influential in establishing the national parks system. This a recommended resource for "Picturing America" project from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
