Amon Carter Online Projects

Take your students to nineteenth-century Texas, Antarctica, the American West, and elsewhere without leaving your classroom! Visit the Amon Carter’s online teaching resources for images, information on artworks and artists, discussion questions, and classroom activities for all grade levels tied to state and national standards.

Presents 125 masterworks, dating from 1822 to 1998, from the Amon Carter Museum collection. All media are represented, and each reproduction is accompanied by an essay, artist biography, and inscription information. This coffee-table book features many long-time favorites from the Carter’s holdings, along with a number of landmark works recently added to the collection: paintings by John Singer Sargent, Stuart Davis, Marsden Hartley; sculpture by Alexander Calder, Frederic Remington, and Louise Nevelson; works on paper by William H. Johnson, and Peter Rindisbacher; and photographs by Alfred Stieglitz, Robert Adams, and Keith Carter. ((High School (9-12); (College/Adult))
