Carter Paintings on the Met's Blog

Head over to the Met's American Stories blog to read an interesting post about the National Parks, the American wilderness, and the exhibition American Stories: Paintings of Everyday Life, 1765-1915. The exhibition includes two of the Carter's paintings, which you can see on the American Stories blog here.

Wonderful to see George Caleb Bingham's work (approaching the Bicentennial year of his birth) along with so many magnificent pieces. Texas can always be proud of the Amon Carter Museum...I certainly am. Only wish a nice retrospective of Bingham's work could have been assembled for 2011.
