It really is cool to be able to come to a place that has such interesting artifacts.

We just returned from a short road trip through the hill country and several images evoked strong connections to Mary Lucier's amazing work: abandoned farm sites along SH 16, huge agribusiness ranches, and last a little cowboy about 4 years old walking by a sign advertising a rodeo. Texas is so like North Dakota in relation to the land and change, contrasting what could be sad and despairing with endurance and affinity. Thanks for sharing Lucier's vision to help us look closely.
