The Stray Man |
|||||
| Once branded, cows were turned back out to pasture.
Stray cattle went to the rightful owners usually via the stray man, who
was sent from the ranch to collect them. The roundup group then moved to
the next range area and repeated the process for the next ranch or outfit.
