Tea and Tours Public Art Tour

Get to know the Fort Worth art scene and discover works by local artists with the Amon Carter. This year the Tea and Tour series offers programs throughout the city and a chance to explore our community with artists, curators, and gallery owners. You'll find some truly amazing art housed in the most unlikely places, and as always we will share the experience over tea and treats.

There are more than 100 pieces in the Fort Worth Public Art collection--a blend of traditional and modern works across the city. We will take a bus tour of some of the highlights of the city’s finest public art. The works consist of mosaics, murals, and sculpture. Tea is at the Gardens Restaurant in the Botanic Gardens.

Reservations are required. Free; embers only. To reserve your place, please call Emily Jones at 817.989.5060 or email rsvp@cartermuseum.org. Meet at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art.

Members on the Road Waco

Let’s take a day off from city hustle and bustle and visit the historic homes of Waco, Texas. Join us as we step back in time into the houses, gardens and grounds of three historic properties in this peaceful city on the Brazos River that calls itself the heart of Texas. Built by affluent merchants and pioneer planters, these homes present distinct styles that give a broad view of mid to late-nineteenth-century art and design. We will examine paintings, architecture, furniture, and textile and costume on privately led tours of each property.

Lunch will be catered by Olive Branch Bakery & Café at McCulloch House. Fee: $150 per person includes transportation, lunch, and all tour fees and gratuities. To register for this day trip, contact Mary Lynn Sloane at 817.
