American Indians in Art

From George Catlin to Charles Russell, discover how American artists have depicted American Indians throughout the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Analyze paintings, photographs, sculpture, and works on paper to explore how artists presented different perspectives on and sometimes promoted stereotypes of American Indians. This broadcast is most appropriate for art and social studies educators of all grade levels, although others may benefit.
