Where can books take YOU?
The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore by William Joyce
Prior to their museum visit, students should read William Joyce’s The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore. Mr. Lessmore’s whimsical tales of tending to and caring for his sometimes-mischievous books will keep the pages turning. At the Amon Carter, gallery teachers help students connect the book’s major themes to museum-related concepts by looking at and discussing carefully chosen artworks. Following in Mr. Lessmore’s footsteps, students begin work on their autobiographies, complete with flying book illustrations.
